The Certificate Course in Maritime Catering is a specialised program designed to prepare individuals for catering and hospitality roles within the maritime industry. Fees inclusive of tuition charges, boarding & lodging and uniforms is Rs. 2,45,000/-and is payable by demand draft / pay order in favour of "Sir Mohamed Yusuf Seamen Welfare Foundation" payable at Mumbai in advance before commencement of the Course.

Program Description

Eligibility

Pass in 10th Standard with minimum 40% marks from a recognized Board with English as one of the subjects. Entrant must have at least 40% marks in English in 10th Standard.

OR

For Diploma or Degree holders:

  • Pass with aggregate 40% marks in 10th Standard.
  • The candidates must have secured minimum 40% marks in English in 10th Standard exams.

Note:

  1. The candidate must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized Board.
  2. The Diploma or degree must be recognized by any State or Central Government or the AICTE.
  3. Part time or distance learning or private mode or correspondence course or any combination of these shall Not be considered eligible for the CCMC course.

Age Limit:

  • Between 17.5 and 25 years on the date of commencement of the course.
  • A relaxation of 5 years will be permitted in the upper age limit over and above the age limit prescribed above for candidates belonging to SC/ST of any part of the country.
  • For candidates holding degree or diploma, the maximum age limit would be 27 years.
  • A relaxation of three (3) years is permitted in the upper age-limit over and above the age-limit stipulated for candidates belonging to Non-creamy layer of OBCs of any part of the country.

Physical Standards:

As per M. S. Medical Examination of Seafarers Rules, 2000 as amended from time to time. Candidates will have to submit a medical fitness certificate from a DG Shipping approved doctor.

Passport:

Candidate must hold a valid Indian Passport.

Faq's

    • T.S.Rahaman does not charge any money other than course fees for admission. Admission to CCMC course will be purely on merit obtained based on the entrance examination and interviews. Admission will be cancelled if the management comes to know that any candidate is trying to secure admission by unfair means.
    • Strict disciplinary action including dismissal shall be initiated against students who are found consuming or carrying or storing alcohol or tobacco products.
    • Sir Mohamed Yusuf Seamen Welfare Foundation have zero tolerance policy against ragging and narcotics, if a student is found to be indulged in any of above, it shall result in rustication of student and the case will be reported to the police.

    • In case of any major indiscipline by any student the case will be dealt by a disciplinary committee and the decision of the committee will be final.

  • Students will not be permitted to go out of the campus except on Sunday (and public holidays declared by the foundation) between 0600 hrs and 0830 hrs. Students are required to take maximum care of themselves during shore leave. T.S. Rahaman will not be in a position to keep a track of the students whenever out of the campus.
  • All the certificates submitted by the candidates will be verified at source. In case any certificate is proven fake such candidates will be rusticated and no fee will be refunded. Candidates will not be receiving Continuous Discharge Certificate till verification report from respective Universities/ boards are received by us.
  • When a candidate joins the course a PAP card (Professional attitude Points) will be issued to him with 100 points. For every act of indiscipline marks will be deducted and every act of merit marks will be added. Once the marks reaches 70 or below, the student will be suspended from the classes till the parent meets the principal. Thereafter points will be raised to 100. When the PAP points reach 70 for the third time, the student will be rusticated.
  • In case the candidate becomes medically unfit during the course he will not be eligible for Continuous discharge certificate (CDC).
  • The course involves handling of hazardous equipments, study tours ashore and offshore and adventure trips. Students required to adhere to the safety norms strictly. ‘Training ship Rahaman’ will not be liable for payment of compensation whatsoever towards any expenses cost arising from any accidents / mishap during the program.
  • Use of mobile phones is prohibited inside mess & during class room studies. It is strongly recommended that student carry mobile phone without camera. If student is caught with camera mobile during class room hours and in mess his / her phone shall be confiscated and a fine of Rs.500/- will be imposed on the candidate.
  • Students will not be permitted to commence the training till they pay the complete fees for the training program.
  • Students are always required to wear correct uniforms except during bed time.
  • To discourage thefts , students are not permitted to keep more than Rs. 250/- , expensive mobile phone or jewellery with them.
  • 100% attendance is expected from all candidates, those candidates having less than 90% attendance will not be permitted to appear for the final examinations.
  • Parents / friends /relatives of the students will not be permitted to enter student hostels.
