1. GRADUATE OF TS RAJENDRA – 78/79 Batch. Started career in Shipping Corporation of India & served in SCI for 40 years. Passed Masters F.G. Exam in 1987 and has 10 years experience as Master.

2. A Marine professional with over 21 years of sea going experience and over 19 years of management experience in Shore operations/activities, with vast experience and expertise in handling all segments of shipping, viz. Training, Technical operations of Bulk Carriers, Tankers, Offshore Vessels, Multi Support Vessels, Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) etc. Have served as Principal of the prestigious Maritime Training Institute (MTI), SCI, an Integrated Management System certified (comprises of ISO 9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018) training Centre and a branch of the World Maritime University. MARITIME EDUCATION AND TRAINING (MET).

3. Has more than 19 years of experience in shore activities, pertaining to Training (Has 7 years’ experience in Teaching as Nautical Faculty), Administration, Ship Operations and Technical Management. Various verticals headed during the tenure at The SCI Ltd. : Principal (SCI-Maritime Training Institute) (from Oct’14 – May’16) & As Course-In-Charge(IMU DNS) at “Training Ship Rahaman” ( From Dec’2019 till date)

Capt. S. P. Roy Training Faculty I have a total sea service with the Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. of 26 and half year. This including 16 Years of Command experience of Oil Tankers (Crude Oil and Product), Bulk Carriers, Container Cum Cargo vessel. I also served for 11 and half years in Technical Departments of the S C I shore management in various capacity till superannuating on 31st March 2017. I had handled large ship building project of Double-hull conversion of Oil tanker during my tenure.

Serving in T.S. Rahaman since December 2006. and as Course Incharge GMDSS, holder of COP-II certificate & GMDSS (Indian and UK) certificate. Served on various types of vessels (Indian and foreign flag) as Radio Officer.

Capt. Mahendra Mirji I am certified to command all types of ocean going ships of unlimited tonnage and power. Extremely satisfied that my 43 years of sailing in various ranks has been uneventful. Here at T.S Rahman I thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience to the ratings and cadets who will in due course proudly ,safely and efficiently man and command ships of unlimited tonnage and power in all sorts of conditions that the Seas will unfailingly dole out as the Seas will always remain the Seas.

Capt Makarand Sardesai Capt. Makarand Sardesai has over 40 years of work experience of which 20 years has been sea service in the merchant navy and over 20 years in the shipping industry ashore. After he stopped sailing, he joined PnO ports as a superintendent. In the 23 years of shore experience he has held higher level managerial positions as General Manager PnO ports, Vice President of Zim Integrated Shipping services , K Line Agency India, CEO of CWC CFS in Nhava Sheva, COO of DP World Rail division CRRS, Secretary General of AMTOI and Western Region Head of Synergy Cargo Management. Presently he is a faculty member of T. S. RAHAMAN

GRADUATE OF TS RAJENDRA – 78/79 Batch. Started career in SCINDIA STEAM NAVIGATION and the Joined BARBER SHIP MANAGEMENT. Passed Masters Exam in March 1989 and got 1st command in 1993. Vast experience in command of Refrigerated Cargo vessel. Stint as PORT CAPTAIN at PARADIP ( 2015 ) working for TATA STEEL. Back office Manager at GLANCE ONE SHIP MGT ( RPSL ) Company at KHARGAR ( 2016 /17). One semester teaching at BP MARINE ( 1ST/2YR BSC NAUTICAL SCIENCE-Aug to Dec 2017 ) ). Presently working as Training Faculty at TS RAHAMAN.

Dharmendra Pandey Serving as Assistant professor of Mathematics for DNS and B.Sc. Nautical science in Training Ship Rahaman since 2007. I have completed M.Sc. in Mathematics from Banaras Hindu University in 2003. I have completed B.Ed. from Pune University in 2019. I have completed M.Ed. from Pune University in 2023. Appointed as a paper setter in the subject of Mathematics in Mumbai University. He has worked as Mathematics lecturer in J.I.C college of Varanasi for period of 4 years from 2003 to 2007.

Mr. Shashank Phonde Serving as Assistant professor of Physics for DNS and B.Sc. Nautical science in Training Ship Rahaman since 2009 Electronics & Electricity Faculty for DNS in Samundra Institute Of Martime Studies from 2005 -2009. Completed M.Sc.in Nuclear Physics at Department Of Physics, Mumbai University in 2003. Presented a research Paper in International Nano Conference in Chennei 2012 on ‘Study of physical properties of Liquid Crystal doped with BaTiO3 Nanoparticle’. Course In-charge of IMU CET Preparatory Course since 2013.

Mrs. Manisha Phonde Serving as Assistant professor of Physics for DNS and B.Sc. Nautical science in Training Ship Rahaman since 2007. Completed M.Sc.in Electronics and Microprocessors at Department Of Physics, Mumbai University. B.Ed. from Mumbai University. She has worked as physics lecturer in K.G.K.C college of Karjat for period of 2 years from 2005 to 2007. Secretary of TSR Women Development Cell.

Mrs. Ashwini Deshmukh Lecturer in Computer / Information Technology subject, has 9 years of teaching experience in various reputed colleges. She has completed M Phil in Information Technology from Yeshwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik and Master in Computer Management from Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.

Serving as a faculty in T.S. Rahaman, he is an Assistant Professor in English and Communication Skills. He has a total of 15 years of teaching experience. He has been honored with the prestigious degree of “Doctorate of Philosophy” from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded, in 2020.

He qualified the SET exam in English language and literature in 2018. His educational qualifications include M.A., M. Phil, SET, Ph.D.

His area of specialization in teaching is English and Communication Skills. He has presented and published research papers in national and international seminars and conferences.

Brief Profile:

B.Sc Graduate from Delhi University. Completed pre-sea training at T.S. Rajendra in 1978 and joined Shipping Corporation of India as a cadet. Sailed on Oil Tankers, Bulk Carriers, Cargo Ships, and Passenger Ships. Obtained Master License in 1987 and joined Barber Ship Management. Achieved Command in 1994 on VLCC.

From 1994 to 2006, sailed as Master with various Shipping Companies, mainly on VLCCs and Oil Tankers, sailing worldwide. From 2007 to 2010, worked ashore in Seagull of Norway as a Marine Consultant and Subject Matter Expert for developing computer-based training and e-learning modules for seafarers. From 2010 to 2023, sailed as Master again on Oil Tankers.

Joined T.S. Rahaman as Teaching Faculty in June 2024. Total sailing experience of 40 years.

Highly experienced Master Mariner who extensively sailed on different type of ships i.e. tanker, bulk carrier, general cargo and multi-purpose vessels. Also has extensive industry experience on ship insurance and surveys, chartering, supply chain logistics and shipping agency operations.
